Dean’s tax practice is varied and includes the multistate taxation of professional athletes, including residency issues, laws effecting income allocation to nonresident athletes, resident tax credits and withholding. He regularly deals with these and other tax issues effecting professional athletes.
As a certified public accountant and business attorney with a strong background in tax law, Dean regularly assists his clients in business planning and operations beyond traditional legal services in all phases of business, from organization through succession and sale.
Dean brings his in-depth of experience in, and knowledge of multistate taxation to bear in developing cost effective plans of action which lead to sensible solutions of client’s tax matters and result in the lowest tax permitted by law. Dean regularly deals with state departments of revenue in pursuance of this goal.
Prior to founding the predecessor of Wolf Solovy & Zivin, Dean worked in the tax department of Peat, Marwick and Mitchell & Co. (KPMG) and the tax department of a medium sized law firm.
Dean’s favorite activity outside of work is spending time with his family. He also enjoys all sports.
