Charles focuses his practice in the areas of business transactions, contract law, residential and commercial real estate transactions, and landlord/tenant disputes. Charles also chairs the litigation department at Wolf Solovy & Zivin, where he handles all of the firms’ personal injury, civil and commercial litigation matters, as well as evictions under the Forcible Entry and Detainer Act.
Prior to joining the firm, Charles worked as an associate at a real estate and civil litigation firm in Chicago where he focused primarily in the areas of personal injury, real estate transactions, evictions, corporate transactions, and commercial litigation.
Charles has successfully represented countless clients in commercial litigation cases including breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, partnership disputes, business torts, residential and commercial real estate disputes, and other corporate litigation matters. He also represents several property management companies and landlords and handles all their landlord/tenant matters and evictions.
Charles has also represented hundreds of clients in all types of injury cases, including motor vehicle, truck, motorcycle, and pedestrian accidents, slip/trip and fall injuries, premises liability cases, construction negligence, dog bites, workers’ compensation matters, and wrongful death cases, where he has recovered millions of dollars in compensation for his clients.
Charles’ ability to handle both transactions and litigation makes him unique in that he has seen what transactional issues are most commonly litigated over. This experience gives Charles the ability to be proactive, rather than reactive, and protect his clients during the drafting and negotiating stage of transactions to put the client in the best position possible.
Charles prides himself on his dedication to both his clients and the practice of law and believes that open communication is key to a successful attorney-client relationship. Charles’s persistence and commitment to his clients allow him to effectively and efficiently resolve even the most complex problems for clients from all walks of life.
In his free time, Charles enjoys working out, playing and watching sports, and spending time with his wife and two little girls, Blake and Zoey.
